Move On, an established and successful Edinburgh and Glasgow-based charity supporting homeless people and vulnerable young people, is seeking to appoint a Manager with proven skills and experience in forming and growing a new social enterprise.

Edinburgh Community Wood Recycling is a new and exciting social enterprise being set up to help the environment, contribute to the circular economy and create jobs and volunteering opportunities for disadvantaged people by collecting, reusing and recycling waste timber from the building industry and other sectors.

A hands-on, entrepreneurial manager is needed to help drive the formation of the enterprise and thereafter manage all the day to day activities. The key qualities that will define an applicants’ suitability are high levels of motivation and initiative; excellent communication skills; empathy and understanding; an interest or skills in wood working, the ability to lead from the front and carry out (in the short term) a good amount of manual labour.

The role will provide the right person with a great opportunity to demonstrate their skills in growing and managing an exciting new social enterprise, leading, working alongside and inspiring others to build an exciting venture that will make a real contribution to the local community and to local sustainability.
