The Care Inspectorate are currently recruiting Young Inspection Volunteers to be involved in the inspection of services for children and young people throughout Scotland.
Young inspector volunteers are 18 – 26 years old and have a personal experience of using services themselves.
We believe your unique insight into care can help improve the services for other people. You will join us on inspections to talk to children and young people using services. We know that they are more likely to share their honest views with you, because of your similar experience. You can make sure their views are an important part of the inspection and included in the inspection report.
Young Inspection Volunteers receive five days induction training and ongoing support and training throughout their volunteering.
The selected young people will develop the skills to carry out inspections of care services, create inspection reports, understand issues surrounding confidentiality and care, and work as part of an inspection team.
The role does require travel, however expenses, transport and hotel accommodation is provided.
